Forensic Genetics

Genoma's Forensic Genetics Section is a nationally accredited center of excellence, for paternity testing and criminal studies as well as research. It is made up of highly qualified professionals in the sector who are consultants for the Italian Law Courts.

The Section offers specialized support in problems concerning paternity disputes and criminality. Its services are available both the to public in general and to lawyers as well as the District Attorneys throughout Italy.

It has evaluated paternity controversies and has carried out important forensic investigations for the determination of DNA profiles on biological traces. It plays a leading role in the development of DNA analysis applied to Paternity Tests, a process that enables clarification of the most complex links of consanguinity, resolving controversial paternity cases and problems correlated to the rights of inheritance.

The Forensic Genetics Section has technological resources and specific capacities that are unequalled in the sectors of DNA analysis and comparison.

The section, moreover, collaborates with prestigious International Humanitarian Organizations in programs that reuinte family members with foreign citizenship by providing them with proof of consanguinity.
