Reliability of the Test

DNA Paternity analysis is a completely dependable test that can be utilized even in the most delicate legal investigations. To enable maximum reliability of the results, it is important that the Center carrying out the examination respect the relative standards of quality by following the guidelines and directives that the international and national scientific communities have set forth.

The objective of maximum reliability is attained both by the specific preparation of those operating in the sector (laboratory directors, technicians, etc.) and by means of proper structures and machinery as well as through the use of methods recognized and approved by the international scientific community: the genetic systems utilized, in fact, must be sufficiently reliable, informative and transmissible according to the rules of mendelian segregation (that is, from father/mother to child) and be accompanied by an adequate amount of data on their frequency in the population.

The paternity test conducted in our laboratory is a completely automatized analysis, carried out by means of an automatic DNA sequencer, which represents the best that modern technology presently offers: this kind of instrumentation utilized permits us to carry out high level investigations; response times are extremely rapid and the cost is contained. Together with the analysis, the Laboratory produces a detailed technical report complete with chromatograms (graphic applications from which one can observe visually the eventual transmission of genetic characteristics from the presumed father to the child) and a computer-assisted statistical analysis of the results.
